Village Bobovišće on island Brač.
Dalmatian urban song with elements of composed music.
This parody winks at the proverbial stinginess of the people of island Brač.

| Rožata – Pudding of Brač Island | |
|---|---|
| Six servings, 1 hour cooking time | |
| 6 eggs 6 dL milk 12 tablespoons sugar |
Grated lemon peel Maraschino or rum |
|
Mixture preparation: Carefully mix the eggs, milk, and 6 tablespoons of sugar without creating foam. Add the grated lemon peel and 2 tablespoons of maraschino or rum. In the pot for cooking the rozata, melt 6 tablespoons of sugar into caramel. While still hot, coat all sides of the pot with the caramel. Once the caramel cools, pour in the prepared mixture. Cook on steam without stirring for about 1 hour, until the pudding sets completely. Cool the pudding in the refrigerator, then overturn it onto the serving plate along with the caramel sauce. Tips: To achieve the smoothest mixture, add the milk only after the eggs are well beaten. | |
